The connection between two IP-phones does not need one of these channels! It is possible to connect up to 12 IP-terminals (OpenPhone 65 IP or 63 IP) additionally to UPN-system terminals.
The use of softphones requires the activation of softphone licenses (OpenSoftphone 100).
With the softgateway only codec G.711 is supported.

Gateway-Module

Using the gateway modules in OpenCom 100 the number of disposable channels between IP and nonIP is to increase up to 64.
For OpenCom 130, 150 und 150rack the gateway-module M100-IP and for OpenCom 510 the MG+ETH1-1 are deliverable.
In case of use of the gateway modules you have the choice out of the codecs G.711, G.723, G.729AB with code compression  and echo cancellation.
The gateways M100-IP and MG+ETH1-1 are prepared for SIP (internet) telephony, IP networking and DECToverIP. The future is now:

• SIP-telephony
• QSIG-networking between OpenCom 100 and/or OpenCom 1000 via IP-connections
• Cellular DECT-network via IP-connection (no DECT-Server at remote site necessary)
  

OpenSoftphone 100

For use of PC or laptop as a system terminal the softphone OpenPhone 65IPC is used with only a headset. The normal telephone on the desk is no more necessary. For each active softphone a licence is needed.
OpenSoftphone 100 is available in variants OpenSoftphone 102 with two, 104 with four, 108 with eight and 116 with 16 licences.
The release of softphones by activation keys and each licence can be activated only once. By addition of keys the number of softphones is increased, e.g. with OpenSoftphone 104 plus OpenSoftphone 108 up to 12 softphone are allowed simultaneous (floating licence).
OpenSoftphone 104 is available for free test with full feature set by activating the test licence for 60 days.
